Cambus Pools

Cambus Pools is a wet grassland with two salty pools, which a haven for passage migrant birds, particularly waders ducks and breeding birds. Stoat short tailed vole and brown hare are regularly seen and bats frequently hunt over the pools. Gadwall has bred occasionally.Kingfishers have been recorded feeding in the pools and black-tailed godwit and greenshank can be seen periodically.Stoat, short-tailed vole and brown hare are all regularly seen here and bats hunt over the pools.A total of 115 species of vascular plant have been recorded, mostly tufted hair-grass, brown bent, tall fescue and marsh foxtail.Harbour porpoise have been seen occasionally in the Forth from the sea wall.Both pools can be viewed from the path on the sea wall. There is a bench on the south side of the western pool accessed by a short flight of steps.

From Stirling take the A907 east towards Alloa. 1km after the roundabout where the B9096 leads off to Tullibody, take the minor road (Station Road) right to the small village of Cambus.
