North Region:
Working Parties
There are regular volunteering opportunities in the Highlands and Islands throughout the year. These are residential working parties where a range of conservation tasks are done such as path construction, bridge building and tree planting.
There are opportunities on Handa Island, Rahoy Hills, Ben Mor Coigach and Hill of White Hamars.

Volunteering in the Highlands and Islands in the Summer of 2010
We have various volunteering vacancies in the Highlands and Islands doing a range of jobs. There is something for everyone.
- Spend a week on Handa Island assisting the Ranger (contact Glen Campbell, gcampbell@swt.org.uk)
- Spend the summer on Handa helping with seabird monitoring (contact Sven Rasmussen, srasmussen@swt.org.uk)
- Join one of our week long practical work parties on Handa, Orkney or the west coast (contact Glen Campbell, gcampbell@swt.org.uk)
These opportunities are open to anyone who is interested in wildlife and likes to work out doors.

Elgin
Elgin Wildlife Watch Group started up in 2009, and has been a great success. They are looking for more volunteers to help run the group.
We are looking for people who enjoy being outdoors with children, and who want to enthuse the next generation about Scottish wildlife! No need to be an expert, just enthusiastic.

Monymusk
We have an immediate vacancy for leaders at the Monymusk Wildlife Watch Group, in Aberdeenshire.
This is a long standing Watch group, and we are looking for people who enjoy being outdoors with children, and who want to enthuse the next generation about Scottish wildlife!
Stonehaven
There is also a Watch group in Stonehaven, which has been running since 2002, and is currently looking for more leaders.
No need to be an expert, just enthusiastic.
Aberdeen
The City of Aberdeen currently does not have a Wildlife Watch group. If you are interested in helping to start one up, please get in touch. There is no need to be an expert, just an interest and enthusiam in working with kids and enthusing them about nature.

Kirkintilloch
We are in the process of starting up a Wildlife Watch Group in Kirkintilloch, East Dumbartonshire, and are looking for more leaders.
Falls of Clyde, New Lanark
Falls of Clyde Wildlife Watch Group is based at SWT's beautiful wildlife reserve, and also has the use of the visitor centre and equipment. They are currently looking for more volunteers to help lead the group.
Glasgow
At the moment, Scotland's largest city does not have any Wildlife Watch groups! If you would like to help start one up, please get in touch.
For all groups, we are looking for people who enjoy being outdoors with children, and who want to enthuse the next generation about Scottish wildlife! No need to be an expert, just enthusiastic.

Borders/City of Edinburgh/East Lothian/Midlothian/West Lothian
- There is a group of our reserve convenors/members who work on SWT reserves most Fridays in East Lothian/Midlothian
- Pease Dean in the Borders - monthly task

- Join us for a couple of hours once a month (usually on the first Friday) at Cramond House. Over a cup of tea or coffee and some good company, help us with simple admin tasks such as stuffing envelopes.
