Marine and Coastal

Scotland has over 16,000 km of coastline and over 88,000 km2 of sea – that’s 60% of UK waters! Currently less than 0.001% of this is protected and many habitats and species are being damaged or destroyed by human activities.

Marine Acts for Scotland and the United Kingdom could give us a once-in-a-lifetime chance to plan and manage the marine environment for the long-term benefit of everyone. Find out what Scottish Wildlife Trust and Scottish Environment LINK are campaigning for in this year’s groundbreaking Marine Bill for Scotland.
