Wildlife Week 2008 sponsored by Galloway Scottish Cheddar1. Affinity marketing - Galloway Scottish Cheddar

In April 2008, two major Scottish brands came together with two aims in sight: to get more families involved in wildlife and; to develop a wider appreciation of nature across Scotland. Galloway Scottish Cheddar is now supporting the work of the Scottish Wildlife Trust (SWT) . Read more about what Galloway Scottish Cheddar think about working with SWT.

2. On-site sponsorship  - Shell UK

Shell UK and SWT have worked in partnership for over a decade. Between 2005 and 2008, Shell focused its sponsorship on a package of works at the Loch of the Lowes Wildlife Reserve (Dunkeld, Perthshire). When matched with other funding, Shell's sponsorship has enabled the:

Volunteer accommodation at Loch of the Lowes
  • development of visitor centre facilities (including new interpretation and a woodland viewing gallery);
  • construction of a volunteer accommodation block (using environmentally friendly building techniques);
  • construction of a new woodland walkway, enhancing visitors experience and linking with another path into Dunkeld village.

  •
    Shell volunteers at Montrose BasinShell's support has been acknowledged:
    • on-site at Loch of the Lowes
    • in SWT Annual Reviews and project publications
    • in press releases
    • at formal opening events
    • on the SWT website

    Over the same period, Shell employees have enjoyed a range of corporate volunteering days including one at Montrose Basin (Angus) working to upgrade the teaching pond used for supervised pond-dipping activities by visiting school groups.
