SWT's network of 123 wildlife reserves range across Scotland and require constant investment to maintain their habitats and (where appropriate) access infrastructure. Where suitable, this work is carried out by supervised teams of long-term unemployed drawn from the locality, providing them with valuable work experience.

SWT is the largest Scottish environmental charity. Our work encompasses land management, public access and interpretation (including visitor centres), species protection and reintroduction work (including the osprey, peregrine falcon, red squirrel and European beaver), and events (e.g. stand at Royal Highland Show).
