Elaine Whiteford

SWT would like to thank Elaine Whiteford, wildlife photographer, for her continued support. The opinions on Elaine's website are her own and are not necessarily endorsed by SWT.

Elaine WhitefordElaine Whiteford began taking photographs underwater in 2003. A photographer before she was a diver, taking pictures underwater was a natural development.

Elaine is a Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society, a distinction she earned with a portfolio of underwater images. She has had photographic articles published in a range of magazines, both general interest and diving, including the Scot's Magazine, Scottish Wildlife, Diver and The Undersea Journal.

Elaine's work has also featured in a number of exhibitions, such as the Royal Photographic Society's Projected Image Exhibition, the Edinburgh International Exhibition of Photography and the Scottish Parliament's Biodiversity Exhibition. A major exhibition of her photographs will take place next June in Stirling.

Elaine is a passionate supporter of Scottish diving and the Scottish marine environment. She dives regularly at home and enjoys sharing the colour and beauty of underwater Scotland with a wide audience. Among her favourite Scottish dive locations are St Abbs, the west coast sea lochs and the Sound of Mull.

You can see more of Elaine's work on her website and read about her dive photography on her blog.
